Firstly, Ms Wang Shen displayed an excellent resume template. She pointed out that an excellent resume should use professional terminology, use more verbs and numbers to enrich the resume, and actively recommend yourself to the interviewer, especially the highlights. According to different positions, resumes should demonstrate the ability match the applied position. She emphasized that it is best to use flashbacks for the internship and educational experience in the resume, put the recent experience in the front. It is best to summarize the work and the ability gained in the internship rather than just mention the internship experience. As for awards, if you’re the only winner of a certain award, you might as well mark it in your resume.

Subsequently, Ms. Wang Shen further introduced the sequence of HR screen resumes. First, HR will look at the overall layout, style, photo, etc. to form a general impression. Then, they will seek the basic information to see if it meets the company’s expectation and look for the shining points. Finally, judge the value of the resume according the description of the experience. It should be noted that the resume should not have exaggerated layout, nor can it simply enumerate information with daily account, let alone describe the experience irrelevant to the job.

The interviewer mainly focuses on two points: one is your working ability, the other is your communication and expression ability. The following aspects can make your resumes more brilliant: impressive self-introduction, answer questions in high voice but not fast speed, clear organization, no mechanical description, and thank the interviewer in the end which show your professional accomplishment.

In terms of salary negotiation, Ms Wang said “Any unreasonable quotation and negotiation form may cause you miss a position that belongs to you”. Salary includes several components: basic salary + welfare + performance bonus+ equity. Therefore, job applicants should consider it as a whole as far as possible, rather just looking at the basic salary. Before negotiating salary, you should consider the value you can provide to the company, understand the salary of the same position in other companies, and have a general expectation for the income of the position you apply for.

At the end, Ms Wang invited several students to share their internship or college entrance experience, and fully exchanged the relevant issues.

The lecture not only taught the students skills in resume making and interview, and have a deeper understanding of the current employment situation, but also get to know their advantages and weaknesses from the practical experience sharing of the senior students, and make a full preparation to get their favorite offer with more positive job-hunting and employment mentality.
