On the afternoon of November 7, under the coordination of the Party Working Committee and the Management Committee of Xiamen University Xiang'an Campus, Xiamen University Overseas Education College/International College and Xiamen Da'deng Street in Xiang'an District officially signed Co-construction of the cooperation framework agreement at Dadeng Street Cultural Activity Center. Assistant to the President of Xiamen University, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xiang'an Campus, director of the Management Committee Guang CHEN, Party Secretary of the Overseas Education College/International College Yi WANG, Qingjun XU, director of Dadeng Sub-district Office of Xiang'an District, and more than 100 representatives attended by leaders and teachers and students. The signing ceremony was hosted by Wenxiong ZENG, member of the Party Committee of Dadeng Street.

Under the common witness of everyone, Secretary Yi WANG and Director Qingjun XU signed a joint framework agreement on behalf of the school and the land. Yi WANG said that while exploring the new model of building and cooperating with the school, the school and the land will also carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of overseas student education, which will kick off the deep-seated and all-round cooperation between the two sides in the new situation. The college will actively integrate and serve the local economic and social development, and contribute to the “double first-rate” construction of Xiamen University and the economic development of Dadeng with practical actions.

According to the agreement, the two sides will give full play to their respective advantages, actively carry out cooperation in government, industry, and research, establish Chinese outstanding traditional cultural heritage projects, build a pilot base for Chinese culture international communication experience, and build an industry cultivation and talent training platform.

After the signing ceremony, the Chinese and foreign students of the college visited the Dadeng Sub-district Office in batches under the leadership of the staff, and carefully understood the development of Dadeng Island and the detailed plan of the school-site cooperation, in preparation for actively participating in the school-site construction.

Later, the teachers and students came to the Tianzhu Village of Dadeng Island to visit the “Kinmen County Government Site” and the homestay cluster – “Luowang·Hongxiang”.

The students came to the Kinmen County Government Headquarters, the Document Room, and the Party Secretary of the County. They witnessed the physical monuments of the five- edge relationship of the Cross-Strait and felt the national spirit of the people on both sides of the strait to jointly resist foreign aggression. Under the red bricks that accompany the modern homestay and the modern homestays, the students at home and abroad perceive the the soul of traditional culture in southern Fujian.

The teachers and students also came to LIN Xiyuan Memorial Park to watch the “Village Revitalization o The 4th Memorial LIN Xiyuan Cultural Festival and Cross-Strait Stars Concert” held to promote the Chinese traditional culture and inherit the spirit of Xi Yuan. They also presented two wonderful performances for the party.

BAI Tingli from Turkey led the classmates to perform the dance Zumba. The rhythm was light and dynamic, which ignited the enthusiasm of all the audience. The Best Star in the Night Sky, which was sung by Chinese and foreign students in eight different languages, became the highlight of the whole party. Many Southeast Asian students have a strong sense of cultural belonging to the songs of southern Fujian songs brought by the guests. Weihan LI from Indonesia said: I feel very cordial, my grandparents in the family can also speak the Southern dialect in Indonesia and sing the southern Fujian songs.

On the occasion of cooperation between the college and Dadeng Street, on November 3, the party committee of the college organized on-the-job faculty and student party branch members to visit and study in Dadeng, and guided the teachers and students to deeply understand the spirit of patriotism and experience the rural revitalization strategy on the spot.Teachers and students visited Dadeng Middle School to understand the development of teaching activities, and discussed specific plans for the upcoming student party members and youths to enter the second classroom of Dadeng Middle School to explore the specific program and explore the new platform for the education and management of party members in the college.

On the 6th, 31 international students from the Chinese Culture Experience Course of the College made a special trip to Xiyuan College to participated in the Salon of the Famous Writers on Literature. Well-known writers Zhaoqian WANG, Jingting HAN, Kefan XIAO and famous editors Lijun XIAO and other literary scholars and overseas students were free to talk and expressed their opinions. The four teachers provided advice on studying Chinese literature and Chinese culture from different perspectives. Among them, Mr. Kefan XIAO suggested that foreign students should not only study, but also make friends with Chinese people, learn Chinese life literature in different life versions of each one

In order to help Chinese students to learn Chinese international education courses better and to experience excellent Chinese traditional culture, Dean Tao TAO and Secretary Yi WANG led the party and government team to take the initiative and actively promoted the Chinese culture for overseas graduate students and undergraduates. The series of experience-themed courses aims to better spread Chinese culture, create an atmosphere of international education, and attract more international students from all over the world to study at Xiamen University.
